About

Ali

"I recently took Wayne's five day, online EMDR intensive. I was excited for the class but I was also expecting to feel drained due to hours on Zoom. To my delight, I felt engaged throughout the entire class. Wayne is a humble expert who draws upon his extensive clinical and EMDR experience to present the content clearly. He conveys information compassionately and his personal style created a supportive learning environment. I highly recommend Wayne's training."

EMDR Five-Day Intensive Training

EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.  Successful outcomes are well documented in the literature for the use of EMDR in the treatment of other psychiatric disorders, mental health problems, and somatic symptoms. This five-day Intensive training is an EMDRIA-Approved training that covers the Basic EMDR Protocol. Participants will see all the phases of the Basic EMDR Protocol in video and live demonstrations and will have the opportunity to apply the skills in small group practices. By the end of the training, participants will be able to use their skills across a wide range of clinical presentations including PTSD and Complex PTSD. Ten hours of consultation are included in the fee. Consultation is provided through weekly consultation groups that participants can join after completing the training.

Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professionals • These are clinicians who are actively pursuing a mental health license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor. Some of these license types include associate, intern, limited, provisional, temporary and pre-license. • Qualifying pre-licensed mental health clinicians must have a master's degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and must be actively pursuing a full license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor. • Individuals who only hold a chemical dependency or substance abuse license are not eligible as these licenses generally do not allow for a mental health scope of practice. Students do not need to provide EMDRIA with any documentation unless specifically asked to do so by EMDRIA staff. Any documentation that needs to be submitted would go directly to the training provider either prior to or during the training registration process.
  • Is consultation included?
EMDRIA requires that clinicians complete ten hours of consultation as part of the Basic Training. Consultation is included with this training. After completing the Five-Day Intensive training, participants will receive an email with the consultation schedule and necessary Zoom links so they can begin participating in weekly consultation groups. There are groups scheduled from Monday through Friday so there are plenty of opportunities to receive consultation. Participants have up to one year from the time they start the training to complete the training and the ten hours of consultation.
  • Will I be certified in EMDR after completing this training?
After completing any Basic Training, the clinician is considered EMDR Trained. Certification requires additional training and consultation beyond the Basic Training. A clinician can begin using EMDR in practice after being EMDR Trained.
  • How many CEU’s?
The Five-Day Intensive Basic EMDR Training, is approved by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program to be offered by The EMDR Collective as an individual course. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. ACE course approval period: 01/27/2025 – 01/27/2027. Social workers completing this course receive 40 clinical continuing education credits. Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete an online course evaluation.
